My Favorite Action Anime Series

Now that you can see that I have given in to the gods of lists and uninspired content, let me introduce my first list! This list will cover my favorite five action series. Now I have only one rule for the entries in this list. NO BATTLE SHONEN ANIME. So goodbye Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, Naruto, One Piece and Fairy tail. I do this to give another series the focus they deserve. And the best part of this list is that the series don’t even have to be an action series primarily to make the cut. As long as action can stand out enough for me to enjoy, its eligible to appear on this list. Another point I wanted to make is that series with thriller or mystery aspect will also not appear on this list. At last, you don’t have to agree with me. More than that, suggest me more series to watch!! HONORABLE MENTIONS ATTACK ON TITAN : THE ACTION IS MORE THRILL RIDE THAN PURE ACTION. THE TECHNICALITY OF EREN vs REINER WAS AMAZING, BUT IT DOESN’T COMPENSATE FOR THE WHOLE SERIES. NOW TH...

My Yuri Harem[Vol. 2]: UnWelcome Detail[48]

It was the sixth night of the week. There was no work today. I came from college and stayed in my room, waiting for Amaan’s call. She and I met up in front of the house. It was to the buffet first. And then to the shopping. Then to a bookstore. Finally, a movie. And then back home. We’d part with a kiss and go to bed. I knew something was wrong when I set my eyes on her. she was annoyed. She was not pleasant like always. She also felt cagey. Her car was waiting for us. We sat on either side of the back seat. The engine started pulling the vehicle and I, like always, extended my hand at Amaan. She’d always hold it for the while we drove from place to place. But this time she slammed her hand against mine and swatted it out of her personal space. She turned around and started glaring outside of the window on her side. Dejected, I did the same. The streets glittered like milky way. Different sizes and colors of lights illuminated the almost darkening sky. It was all the same...

Overlord: An Over bloated Overexposed heap of Squandered Potential

Welcome to Animeland. On the right you’d see fantasy, slice of life, comedy and action. On the left you can see adventure, musical, romance & drama. Below your feet rests echhi and harem. And on the throne sits Isekai. Yes, today I’ll be talking about Overlord, the anime equivalent to ‘The frying pan is full, but its full of gasoline, so get ready for a blast.’ Its an isekai anime by MadHouse, the dying grandfather of anime studios. The first season aired in 2015, followed by a second & third season in 2018. Now that those facts are out of the way, Let me state my business here: I am here to answer why Overlord anime is terrible, run of the mil isekai trash with an interesting hook, and nothing more. Please note that this is not a review, but an opinion piece. I will be heavily criticizing it for each aspect this show rubs me the wrong way. ALSO, this is an anime 'opinion piece'. So take those light novels back to the library because you’re too broke to buy th...

Winter 2K19 Favorite OP

2019 has kicked off with a bang. Being an optimist, I hope the general superior quality of 2018 anime bleeds into this year as well. And present season of Winter has not disappointed with productions like Promised Neverland, Dororo, Kaguya sama & Rising of the Shield Hero. Dark horses like Quintessential Quintuplets & Domestic Girlfriend creeped up onto us, stirring all kinds of conversation for community to disagree upon. Finally, fan favorite gems like Mob Psycho 200, Kakegurui XxX & Boogiepop have blessed us with that good quality content they are known for. But I am here for anime openings, more specifically, some of them which didn’t let me skip them. Some of them captivated me with storytelling, some had stunning visuals, others had a rocking track to back the visuals. But just like a regular human being, I dropped majority of anime and cared about five series alone. And the season has gone far enough for me to get a hang of what the shows I'm watching have...

Deep In-Character: Tsubasa Hanekawa [MonoGatari Franchise]

One of the most appealing character to watch on screen is that of ‘Genki Girl’. Basically, cute and innocent girls who can do no wrong. There are many characters who walk a fine line between being genki and being mentally challenged. Characters like Nadeshiko from Yuru Camp, Nagisa from Clannad and Revy from Black Lagoon are prime examples of Genki Girls, whereas any other personality could be put in a bracket of stereotypes. I know it makes my argument in favor of genki girls go redundant, but I’d prefer to be ignorant rather than being wrong. Now, looking at a snowflake melting in front f your screen is definitely cute or moe or whatever, but there has to be some frill in the personality. If every sweet thing was labelled as sweets, sugar would trump your favorite flavor of ice cream. Thus, enters Tsubasa Hanekawa: one of my waifus, who never fails to warm my heart whenever I am in the vicinity of her 2D presence. That rose-colored skin always made my heartr...

Bunny Girl Senpai: An ED War: Anime Essay

Bunny Girl Senpai: the ED wars In the fall 2k18 season, the rain of ending songs in anime has been beautiful. Run with the Wind is the best ED for the season, and Zombieland Saga’s “Hikari E” is a treat for the eyes. I have talked about this earlier in my anime essay, but I noticeably excluded this ED, “Fukushagi no Carte” from that lineup. Its just for a simple reason: it is in its own plane. The single version of the song (Available on YouTube) is sung by six voice actresses. The voices of Asami Seto, Nao Touyama, Atsumi Tanezaki, Maaya Uchida, Yurika Kubo and Inori Minase feels like silk running against your eardrums. Its not on Zombieland Saga’s ED level, but that comes down to preference. However, for the ED, I salute the Vas because having that level of talent and making all of them stand out is a masterstroke of awesome. But you know what I love more than this triple duet? The track sung by individual VAs. Aside from Inori Minase’s character Shoko, every other...
